Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Orbitcare, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the app.
What Orbitcare is — and isn’t
Orbitcare is a technology platform that connects patients with independent, licensed doctors. We are not a hospital, clinic, or medical provider ourselves — doctors on Orbitcare are independent practitioners responsible for their own medical advice and decisions, not Orbitcare employees.
Orbitcare is not for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, go to the nearest emergency room or call your local emergency number immediately — do not wait for a response through the app.
Health tracking, symptom-checking, and educational content in the app are provided for your own reference and are not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis or treatment.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Doctors must hold a valid, current MDCN license and complete our verification process before being listed on the platform.
Your account
- You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including your medical history.
- One account per person — accounts are not transferable.
Doctor verification
We verify every doctor’s MDCN license number, a government-issued ID, and a live selfie match before they can be listed. This process is designed to confirm that a doctor is who they claim to be and holds a genuine, current license — it does not constitute Orbitcare endorsing, guaranteeing, or being responsible for the medical advice a specific doctor gives. The doctor-patient relationship, and any medical decisions made within it, remain between you and that doctor.
Subscriptions and payments
Doctor and Patient Plus subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly, as selected at checkout, and processed securely through Paystack. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing date. You can cancel at any time from within the app; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don’t provide prorated refunds for the remaining period.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your identity or medical credentials.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse another user.
- Post misinformation, spam, or content unrelated to health and care.
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data without authorization.
- Use the platform for anything unlawful.
We review reports of doctor and content violations and may suspend accounts, take down content, or revoke a doctor’s listing where warranted.
Your content
You own the content you post — health tips, comments, reviews. By posting, you grant Orbitcare a license to display it within the app. You’re responsible for making sure you have the right to post what you post, and that it doesn’t violate anyone else’s rights.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orbitcare is not liable for the medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment decisions made by doctors using the platform, or for outcomes resulting from your use of the app. The platform is provided “as is,” and we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, engages in fraud, or poses a risk to other users.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from your use of Orbitcare will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Orbitcare after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
